Staff Responsibilities

Student Responsibilities

Availability

  • Will post drop-in office hours on their door.
  • Do not have to see students immediately unless it is urgent.
  • Will ensure that voice-mail is enabled.
  • Will respond within 48 hours to students enquiries. (Monday-Friday)
  • Will try 3 times, if there is no reply will not try again.
  • Casual staff will inform students about who else to contact when they are unavailable.
  • Will inform the Student Office of contact details when absent, when they will return and who to contact in their absence.

Availability

  • Need to use office hours for drop-in appointments with staff.
  • Need to book appointments with staff if unable to attend drop-in hours.
  • Students to ring and leave a message or place written message on academic's door or leave at Student Office. (® pigeon holes).
  • Will leave a number of contact numbers and best time of day to be reached.
  • Need to leave clear messages.
  • Students should re-contact academic staff if no response within 48 hours.
  • If there is still no response contact Student Office who will follow this up
Assignments
  • Available for return within 3/52
  • Staff in subjects will agree on return date and method and inform students.
  • Marks/assignments in all subjects will be reviewed and moderated where necessary to ensure parity of standards across tutorial groups.
  • Assignments will be kept by academic staff for no longer than 6 months.
Assignments
  • Will give in assignments on time.
  • Submit prepaid envelope for return of assignment if students wish this to be mailed back.
