Services and workshops

The University Graduate School, UTS Library and English Language Study Skills Assistance Centre offer a number of services and workshops that provide assistance where needed and to allow you to develop your skills.

Graduate Research School (GRS)

The GRS runs research student workshops each month covering a wide variety of topics that apply to research students, such as research design, software packages such as Endnote, applying for ethics approval, the examination process and many more. The Faculty is notified by UGS of upcoming workshops and an email is sent to the Faculty's research students.

UTS Library

The UTS library provides a number of resources for postgraduate students such as increased borrowing privileges, journal databases and training in information retrieval and management. The library also runs training sessions for Endnote.

Computer services (ITD)

The Information Technology Division (ITD) provides a comprehensive range of facilities and services to meet the major computing and communication requirements of the University.

UTS - Human research ethics

The UTS Research and Innovation Office manages the Ethics application process.

Higher Education Language and Presentation Support (HELPS)

Higher Education Language and Presentation Support (HELPS), is dedicated to provide English language and academic literacy support to UTS undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students. Support is available for both individual sessions and targeted workshops. Some workshops are organised with the Faculty and offered during the Research Student Forums, others are organised through the Graduate Research School.

HELPS can assist in areas such as preparation for the doctoral or masters assessment, writing skills and development. For more information about, visit the HELPS website to see what is running, or alternatively arrange an individual session.

Maths Study Centre

The Mathematics Study and ICT Centre provides a support service to all students of UTS studying in various introductory mathematical or quantitative areas including statistics. The Mathematics Study and ICT Centre coordinates all mathematics support services over the University, and is available on both the City and Kuring-gai campuses.
