Mission
The Professorial Unit aims to contribute to the research culture within Justice Health through, the initiation of, and contribution to existing, practice centred research activities that involve nurses.
Collaborative opportunities with other professional groups are a valued concept congruent with the acknowledged position within the unit that no particular worldview alone constitutes reality. An active role in nursing practice development through formal and informal teaching and consultation within the partner organisations of UTS and Justice Health is combined with research and underpinned by the value invested in reflective practice and lifelong learning.
Strategic involvement in various committees and meetings in both Justice Health and UTS aim at the contribution to, and promotion of, nursing in the context of Justice Health in areas where Professorial Unit input clearly adds value to such committees and meetings.
