Discover the Nurse in U@UTS
Are you thinking about becoming a nurse? But not sure what it's all about?
Come and Discover the Nurse in U @UTS - an information session designed specially for people who are interested in nursing as a career.
What can I expect on the night?
We’ve brought together three very different nurses to talk about the UTS Bachelor of Nursing and their experiences from study to work and further career opportunities. They are:
- a current UTS Bachelor of Nursing student
- a recent graduate who works in a hospital
- an experienced nursing academic who has also had a successful career in clinical practice
The night will start with an interactive panel discussion followed by an informal and hands on tour of UTS’ state of the art clinical facilities. With current students and teachers leading the session, you'll find out exactly what it's like to study at UTS.
Who can attend?
Anyone considering career in nursing will benefit from attending the session - whether you're in high school, TAFE, working as an AIN or EN or looking to embark on a change in career.
Parents, partners and friends are more than welcome to join you.
When are the sessions run?
2012 sessions will be held at both the UTS Kuring-gai and City campuses.
Sessions that we currently have planned are listed below.
- Thursday 12 April - City - 5:30pm – 7.00pm - Sorry this session is fully booked out.
- Thursday 24 May - Kuring-gai - 5.30pm – 7.00pm
- Thursday 7 June - City - 5:30pm – 7.00pm
- Wednesday 4 July - City - 5:30pm – 7.00pm
- Thursday 12 July - Kuring-gai - 5:30pm – 7.00pm
How can I register to attend?
Easy - just fill in our online booking form.
Once we receive your form, we'll be in touch with you to remind you which session you're booked in for, and other details like where to meet.
I'm a Careers Advisor/Teacher/Librarian and want to tell my students about the workshops
If you'd like us to send your school posters and/or postcards for this session, please email us and let us know how many you would like of each. We can also email you soft copy PDFs of the promotional material for inclusion in school newsletters (for example).
This information session can also be run for school/TAFE groups at a time and date that suits you. The session can be tailored to the needs of the group and held either on campus at UTS or at your institution. Simply email us to make an enquiry or find out more.
