Health Care Connections
The Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health maintains strong links with the health care and other sectors.
In particular, strong relationships are in place with the South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health Service and the Northern Sydney and Central Coast Health Service; John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle; the Division of Women's and Children's Health at St George Hospital; and, child and family health nurses in a number of regions. We also have a strong collaborative relationship with the NSW Parenting and Research Centre at the Department of Community Services and the Tresillian Family Care Centres. These relationships ensure that our research and consultancy work in grounded in practice.
Many of the staff and portfolio holders are also closely linked to professional organisations. These include:
- the NSW Midwives Association (NSWMA),
- the Australian College of Midwives (ACM),
- the Child and Family Health Nurses Association (CAFHNA)
- the Council for Remote Area Nurses of Australia (CRANA).
- and the Tresillian Family Care Centres
These links ensure that we address issues that are important to the professions.
