National Publicly-funded Homebirth Consortium

The National Publicly-funded Homebirth Consortium is a network of the publicly-funded homebirth models of care in Australia.
The aims of the Consortium are to:
- Establish a network of the publicly-funded homebirth models of care in Australia
- Describe and compare the elements of the publicly-funded homebirth models of care across the country
- Collate and report non-identified data from women who planned a publicly-funded home birth at the onset of labour
- Explore and implement ways of collecting prospective data in the future on publicly-funded homebirth models
- Act as a resource for new models being developed around the country
- Provide a network to assist with the development and implementation of the Birthplace in Australia study
Caroline Homer is the lead investigator of the study and Christine Catling-Paull is the national coordinator working through the Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health at UTS.
