The Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health

The Centre for Family Health and Midwifery at the University of Technology, Sydney was established in July 2000 by Professor Lesley Barclay as a result of collaboration with UTS: Nursing Midwifery and Health and the health industry.

Professor Caroline Homer, was appointed as the Director of the Centre in January 2005. Caroline is also Professor of Midwifery with UTS: Nursing, Midwifery and Health.

In August 2004, the name of the Centre was changed to the Centre for Midwifery and Family Health (CMFH). This was to reflect the appropriate order of events within women's lives and an emphasis on midwifery development. In 2006, Professor Cathrine Fowler joined the Faculty as the Professor and Tresillian Chair in Child and Family Health. To reflect this, the name of the Centre was again changed to the Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health. This new name recognises the two main disciplines within the Centre, that is, midwifery and child and family health nursing.

The Centre for Midwifery, Child and Family Health's brings together a group of highly experienced and skilled clinicians. More information on staff and affiliates is available on this website.
