High fidelity simulation lab
Two state-of-the-art nursing and midwifery labs are equipped for simulation of a range of clinical scenarios. The adjoining control room allows teaching staff to remotely alter simulated patient states, observe students' responses and digitally record activities via ceiling cameras and microphones. One room can be partly closed off to allow a scenario to be enacted and recorded in one part of the room and other students to view live footage in the other part of the room.
The video cameras in the maternity-focused facility area, the health assessment lab, and the high fidelity simulation lab all feed into the control room. Here, teaching staff can monitor students' skills and use the video facilities for recording and use in student debriefing. Video streaming to adjoining areas in the City campus, to the Kuring-gai campus and to other external sites is also possible via internet protocol.
